This ropeway was commenced in 1981, and completed in August 1983. It is of the three-cable 30+1-passanger reversible type, with the horizontal distance of 1979 m, elevation difference of 603 m and one-way transport capacity of 240 people / hour.

This ropeway is the first large-scale passenger ropeway in China national scenic area. Previously, it took over two hours for tourists to trek up the mountain, but now, it only takes seven minutes to reach the top of mountain by ropeway. Since the operation, this ropeway has smoothly run for over twenty years, and carried about one million tourists each year.

In October 2000, this ropeway was modified into the monocable circulating cabinlift type (with detachable grips), with the one-way transport capacity of 1,630 people / hour.
